There is one brief blank moment between the celebration of what was and the embracing of what will be. That is the moment of commitment -- to ponder briefly and to pray boldly. Whether it's the change in year or the change in hour, whether the difference is on a calendar or a clock, there must remain that blank moment when we give the time and space to God.
"Resolution" -- the word so commonly paired with the new year is nowhere to be found in the Bible. And so I will simply but sincerely just try giving Him more opportunity to fill in the blank space.
